FNSW alerts all members of the recent warnings distributed by the Meningococcal Association of Australia in relation to shared drink bottles.
Test results show that the sharing of drink bottles occurs more frequently in sport and therefore places sports persons at a high risk in relation to meningococcal. Football NSW fully endorses the recommendation that drink bottles should not be shared and that all sportspersons should be made aware of the threat of contamination by meningococcal bacteria.
